どれもかざすだけの、簡単操作で
他社にはない使いやすさなのだが･･･
 
後継機種はないのかな?
 
USBモデルの S20 なら「繋がってない」なんて言わないかな?
いや、USBだったら、よけいに「繋がってない」って言うだろうな･･･

製品添付の取扱説明書にはターミネータが必要との記述はなく
これまでずっと、Auto Termination だと思って使えていたのだが
英文.pdf には、Termination and connection
という項目がある･･･
 
はて?

でも、コマを取り出してひとつひとつフィルムフォルダにはめて、
スキャナに飲ませて、吐かせて
コマをひとつひとつフォルダから外してしまう｡
なんて、やだ･･･　めんどうくさい｡

Termination and connection 
 
Ensure that your computer and all other SCSI devices are turned off 
whenever you connect or disconnect cables. 
 
A SCSI chain must have terminators at both ends. 
Terminators are needed because any cable reflects 
a portion of the electrical signals that reach the end of the cable. 
The terminator absorbs those reflections to minimize interference 
with data transfer. 
 
The HP PhotoSmart Photo Scanner is a self-terminating device. 
When one SCSI connector is plugged into the back of the scanner, 
it is automatically terminated. When two connectors are 
plugged into the back of the scanner, the termination is disabled. 
 
If you connect the HP PhotoSmart Photo Scanner directly to 
the computer or between two other devices in the SCSI chain, 
the terminators are automatically enabled or disabled, as needed. 
If you connect the HP PhotoSmart Photo Scanner as the last device 
in the SCSI chain, it will be necessary to remove or disable 
the terminators in the SCSI device that was previously last in the chain. 
Because different SCSI devices have different methods of enabling or 
disabling their terminators, it may be necessary to consult the documentation 
for that particular device to see how it is done. 
 
If functioning external devices are already connected to the SCSI card, 
nothing needs to be done with the SCSI card terminators. However, 
if this is the first external SCSI device being attached to the SCSI card, 
it may be necessary to remove or disable the SCSI card terminators. 
Since different SCSI cards use different methods for removing or disabling termination, 
please consult the SCSI card documentation to see how it is done. 

Exposure : high-light, mid-range, darkness
が、コマ毎に異なり、自動調整されてしまう様子。
ハイライトが白くなかったり、黒がしまらなかったり
で、調整しなおさずに Final Scan できない。
バンドル品の旧版(1996)TWAIN画面では、こんなことなかったのに…
 
また、トリミング位置もずれてフレームアウトすることが
ときどきあり。これも手動調整が必要。
 
色は、おまかせでほぼ大丈夫みたいだけど
 
FinalScanで保存先を聞くダイアログが開くのに
ファイル名を決められず…
Scan123.jpg とかいう連番になるのは、かなりイヤ
あとで手間がかかってしまう。
バンドル品の旧版(1996)TWAIN画面では、
前置文字列を決めて保管したら、次回は
同じファイル名になったので、コマ番号だけ
書き換えて済んだので、そちらの方が楽でした。
 
残念ながら、1996版は、w98 で動きますが
NT4 NT5 では、動きません（泣）
 

あと４枚のところで　スキャン開始直後
音楽CD挿入で RealOnePlayer 起動するところで
page fault - 青画面
で、二時間中断してしまいました。

これ以上、サイズの大きなmp3は、欲しくないかも

ちょっと 30MB は、つらいけど
2400dpi にする必要はないことを、
やっと実感してきました｡
 
最近のブラウザは、大きな画像はリサイズして
窓に合わせてくれるので、微妙にクライアントの
画面サイズに気を使わなくてよいので助かります｡
 
我が家で 1200dpi でフィルム･スキャンすると
1241 x 906 pix です｡
 
印刷したいときだけ、あらためてスキャンし直せばよい
ということに、最近　気が付きました｡

仕方ないのか?
それともフィルムのクセだろうか?
光りのあるときの発色はヨイのだが･･･
