Like a great deal of Tony Scott films, Unstoppable works far much better than it should. It applies standard Artist bombast to an ostensibly real story, starting with a plausible disaster scenario and then drowning it beneath the glut of preposterous dramatic contrivances. Everything goes to 10 here. If a runaway prepare is cool, then a runaway teach carrying toxic chemicals has to be ten times as awesome and hey, how about a chemicalladen runaway train crashing suitable dozen oil tanks?! If Scott could own gotten away with flinging a box complete with kittens in said prepare path, he would have complied without a second considered.
